We received several calls, stating, "This is not a sales call. Please call 1-866-230-8094. This is important." We returned their call twice, but even though we had just received their call, they said we had to call back during their business hours.

Finally my wife got through.

The first thing their answering machine says is "to expedite your call, enter your social security number."

My trusting wife told them. They said we were the wrong people, we owed nothing. So now we know they are a collection agency. What are they going to do with our SS numbers? Are they a fraud?

Shouldn't it be illegal for anyone to ask for your Social Security numbers? How many innocent people will be taken in by a legitimate-sounding ploy, giving away detrimental information?

These people have been calling for over 90 days. Tried to talk to them on second day and all they wanted was my ssn. They asked me if my phone number was such and such, I said yes and was told that they could not talk to me. Checked with all my creditors and I am in good standing. Why do they keep calling? And if they have some debt that I don't know about aren't they required to send you a written notice with 5 days of first contact? Thats the way I read both federal and state law.

You have to contact the Attorney General's office in your state. The BBB is really only an agency that tells you what businesses have paid dues to belong and what their reputations are. This company is fraudulant and destructive and needs to be stopped.

Are they still calling? Tell them that you want debt validated. It is called a VOD-Validation of Debt and they know exactly what it means. It should include real proof! Ie; complete payment history, the agreement that bears the signature of the alleged debtor wherein you agreed to pay the the original creditor AND letter of sale or assignment from the original to Palisades. ( shows that that have the authority to collect on the alleged )

Comments on Palisades got our SS. numbers before telling us why.
