I'm so relieved that I'm not alone with this Palisades/AT&T collections. I was freakin out, but now I see others have this same exact issue. Ok, I'm gonna try calling AT&T again and agian just like I'm seeing you did with success. I've called them once before, and they said they don't have any record of my account, yet Palisades is trying to collect $600 from me for an AT&T bill. If AT&T really did send this to collections, they would have a record of it... right? It makes me so "pissed off"!

Im having a really bad time too. They are stating that I cancelled my service early. I had them from 2000 to 2003 with no changes. I even have the paperwork to prove it. I contacted AT &T and they have no record. please help....I delt with this 4 years ago, and now all of a sudden its happing again.

Persistence is the key. In my case, AT&T sent me to collections for an account that wasn't mine. I had an account in good standing with them. After 8 months and over 30 phone calls to AT&T they finally contacted the collections agency, bought back the account and took it off my record. It should be off my credit report soon... Good luck. Don't bother with the collections agency, just call AT&T if it was their error.

This sounds like what happened to me. AT&T screwed up and billed me for unfounded charges. We tried to correct the problem but AT&T is to big. So I contested the credit report and they (AT&T) corrected the problem. 2½ years later it appeared again.

Since the animal league(Allied Collection Agency) started calling, I played the hard of hearing role but continually saying "huh" and "what" everytime they called, it finally got it corrected by finding someone within AT&T to correct the problem. Don't give up.
